Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is a place that’ll make you feel like Hawaiian Royalty but without the hefty price tag.
Located on the Big Island of Hawaii’s sunny Kohala Coast, the resort-style hotel boasts spectacular ocean views and has private access to one of the world’s best beaches.
The moment you walk into the lobby you understand what the fuss is about, as it’s open-air layout perfectly shows off the island’s coast and overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
As you explore the property, you’ll be mesmerised by its enormous columns, rotunda celing and curved staircases leading down to beautifully manicured terraced gardens, which is only a stones-throw away from the beach.
The hotel features all your resort-style amenities such as private beach, infinity pool, modern rooms, full-service spa, gym, on-site boutiques, ample dining options, a café shop, pool bar and access to various attractions including an 18-hole golf course next door.
What’s great about Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, is it has an upscale resort atmosphere but is also very family-friendly.
VIDEO REVIEW: You can take a look for yourself in my Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel review:
Bedroom and Bathroom
Getting to my room did prove a challenge as there are so many rooms, levels and sections to the resort causing one to get a little lost. However, after speaking to a few roaming staff members I was able to find it…eventually!
For my visit, I stayed in a brightly lit, spacious and island-inspired standard bedroom, which featured a private lanai with garden and ocean views.
The room offered Wi-Fi access (fee), a flat screen TV with cable, mini fridge, coffeemaker, seating area and air conditioning.
In the bathroom it was spacious and served up all your modern amenities such as as free toiletries hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers.
The hotel offers a variety of facilities and amenities for all guests to enjoy. This includes a private beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas and lifeguards. Here you can also hire free snorkel and flippers for a few hours to check out the coral rocks and marine creatures.
It also has an infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a bar attached. You can simply soak up the views and enjoy a few cocktails and bar dishes.
Top experience was easily enjoying the poolside live music and hula performance at sunset.
Unfortunately, the only downside experienced at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel was the service. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t fantastic either – overall I would rate it as ‘just average’.
It might have been a result of visiting during peak summer holidays or just be that “island way of life” style you get with certain destinations, but I did experience a few frustrations including a room mix-up, slow room service, inaccurate information being provided and disinterested/unhelpful staff at times with resort enquires.
• Private beach and infinity pool with bar area
• Perfectly positioned ocean view rooms
• Free resort-wide Wi-Fi and recreational activities (eg. snorkelling and hula sunset performance)
Only downside was the service – it could have been warmer, more helpful and quicker at times.
Rating: 4.2 out of 5
